One Month Old

I don't know where this month went!  I don't even want to think about returning to work...the time is going way too fast!  Reagan has been a very good baby so far.  She doesn't cry much, has a good appetite, and sleeps quite a bit.  She does fairly well at night and consistently gives me three hours of sleep at a time in between feedings and has even stretched it to four a couple of times. When she does get upset, she squeaks more than she cries, so we call her squeaky or squeakers.  We are just in love with this little lady.

Here are the one month shots:

Reagan's First Month

We have had a busy month!  This post was supposed to be about the first two weeks, but it's turned into the first month instead.  My mom stayed with us for the first week we were home since I couldn't do any lifting other than Reagan.  She was a really big help with Rylie and around the house as well.  It was fun spending extra time with her and I didn't want her to leave!

We made Reagan's first trip out of the house to none other than Target.  We had one cart with kids and filled up an entire 2nd cart with our purchases.  Good thing there were two of us!   We took Reagan in for a one week checkup and unfortunately she had lost a little more weight and was 6 lbs 1 oz. He also thought she might look a little jaundice. He just told us to watch her over the long weekend and bring her back in the following Tuesday for a weight check. My dad came back for the long Memorial Day weekend. We celebrated my mom's 60th birthday with dinner out with some of their friends and dessert back at home. They helped us out with a lot more outdoor work and with some work in the garage and basement.  It's never much of a vacation for them when they visit as they are always put to work.  Dan's parents came out as well and got our basement painted. Reagan had her first bath as well. Big sister Rylie helped too.

Dan stayed home the majority of the following week.  He did have one full day of work, but other than that, he just made short trips to his office.  We went to the park on Memorial Day and on Tuesday took Reagan in for her weight check- 6lbs 8.5 oz.- almost back to birth weight.  So that weekend we packed up our almost 3 year old and our 2 week old and drove out to La Crosse for the Charlie Kearns Memorial tournament. It was a fairly uneventful trip- one stop at a rest area for feeding and diaper changes and that was it!  Dan golfed with Chris and his Dad, so Leslie and Trudy and the kids all came along to swim at the hotel.  That Saturday was my original scheduled date so we obviously hadn't planned on making the tournament this year, but it worked out well.  Reagan was able to meet Great Grandma LaVonne too.  We ended up staying Sunday night as well to celebrate my birthday with dinner at the Freight House.  We drove back home on Monday in time for Reagan's 2 week check up- 7lbs 3.5oz. and 20 1/2 inches.  We were happy to see she is putting on weight and grew an inch.

Our visitors the first month at home other than my parents were Beth, Brielle and Bennett, Uncle Patrick, Grr and Grr Mom, Auntie Leslie and Sophie, Murph and Maura and Christa, Tommy, and Bobby.  We made trips to Grr and Grr Mom's house and Auntie Beth's house for dinner and visited my office as well.  Wish we had pictures with everyone...

Other things Reagan has done are shopping at Stein's for all of our flowers, attended Michael's and Brady's baseball games, watched slept through her sisters first gymnastics class and has gone on several walks.  We take an hour walk each day that ends at the water tower where Rylie likes to run around and around.  It has been fun to watch Rylie interact with Reagan so far.  She has done really well.  She is very gentle with her.  She pushes her swing if she starts crying or rocks her car seat.  She gives her the paci and also shares her own blanky when Reagan is upset.  She likes to help change her diapers and is a great little helper. So far she has only tried to feed her baby one time the way that mommy feeds Reagan :)   She says things like "I know sweetie", "It's ok baby, Mommy is going to feed you soon".  She gives lots of hugs and kisses.  She loves reading her "Big Sister" book.  She even lined up her animals and babies in her bed and sat with her night light on reading her Big Sister book to them.

Another picture-heavy post....and in no particular order because that just takes way too much effort.
