We are ready for summer!!

Rylie is about halfway done with her swimming lessons. We go to the Y on Sunday evenings for a half hour lesson for 8 weeks. Sometimes daddy swims and sometimes mommy and sometimes we both swim with her. We think it's great getting her used to the water at a young age and hopefully we'll get to swim a few times this summer. There is one song we do, that I remember from lessons when I was little, and it goes "motor boat motor boat go so slow" then "go so fast" and when it gets to the "step on the gas" part, daddy is usually taking Rylie flying over some imaginary waves on her kick board.
If you look close enough, she's giving me the bird!

Testing out the hammock for the first time

I'm happy to say that I've been to 3 Brewer games for work so far...love my job. At this particular game, a few of us we were able to sign Bob Uecker's giant get well card and were asked to do an interview for tmj4. I declined (shocking, I know), but my co-worker Stephanie accepted. You can check her out online at http://www.todaystmj4.com/. Search for the "Fans Wish Uecker Well" video.
Rylie is still crawling all over the place...getting faster each day. She generally heads straight for the entertainment center or the desk in the office, which are both far more appealing than any of her toys. So needless to say, we're keeping busy following her around. She's managed to pull herself up on quite a few things and has no problem plopping back down. Rylie has been clapping for a couple months too (Grr Mom has worked on patty cake quite a bit with her). Her most recent trick is waving, but I have yet to catch it on video. She usually ends up waving after the person has already walked away, but it's so cute anyway! She also shares her paci and puffs with mommy. Our little peanut is 10 months old today, so stay tuned for some new pictures (if she'll sit for them)!

Forward Motion

After at least a month of rocking on all fours and scooting backwards or in circles to get where she wanted to go, she's finally figured it out. And we're figuring out how much baby proofing we have ahead of us. She has wasted no time checking out every area she can get to.

9 Months Old!

Yup, I'm still a peanut! Rylie had her 9 month appointment this week. She weighed in at 17 lbs 3 ounces and 27.5 inches. This puts her in the 18th percentile for weight and 43rd percentile for height. She's a happy baby that doesn't want to sit still! Lots of pictures follow!

No more pictures mommy!

What's over here??
How about here??

And...I'm done.

Fun in the Sun!

Rylie took her first plane ride last Friday...to Phoenix. My parents visit their friend Ron (aka Uncle Ronnie) every year around this time. There were some really good prices on flights and since I didn't have to hoard all of my vacation time for maternity leave this year, we decided to invite ourselves out for a visit. Rylie did great on the plane. On the way out, we sat next to a very nice lady (who will be a first time grandma in October) that asked to hold her...and Rylie fell asleep for her! We sat next to an equally nice lady on the ride home. Rylie was a little squirmier and she may have noticed Dan and I passing her back and forth, so she asked to hold her and did so several times! Towards the end she was so tired and fought sleep, but finally gave in for the last hour of the flight.
Waiting for everyone else to board the plane

In flight picture

Are we there yet?

Dan and I headed to the golf course shortly after arrival while Rylie and Grandma played back at the house.

Playin' in the pool
Mommy's day with Rylie= lots of pictures

Family photo- we just needed Patrick and we would have had a Christmas card!

Rylie and Great Uncle Ronnie

On our last day there, my parents were heading to a resort for a few days. Since we had a late flight, we were able to hang out with them and swim for the afternoon. At about 2:00 we were wishing we had stayed 1 more day!

Ready for the airport!

Easter Weekend

Grandpa and Grandma Kearns came to visit Friday night and we dropped them off at the airport on Saturday. They are off to Arizona, where we will join them this Friday. Friday was such a warm day, we had to break out some of Rylie's clothes from last summer that were too big at the time, but fit her now!

We spent Easter Sunday with Grr and Grr Mom Wille. They celebrated the weekend before with Carpenter's, so it was just the 5 of us.

All Dressed Up!

Last weekend my grandpa Charlie was inducted into the Aquinas High School (my alma mater) Wall of Fame. Rylie and I were visiting for the weekend (Dan was playing in a golf outing...yes, in March) so we were able to attend the dinner and award ceremony. My dad accepted the award on Charlie's behalf and he kept his speech short and sweet...unlike the guy that went on and on for 45 minutes.

Other things we did that weekend:

Met great-grandpa and great-grandma Jenks at Sloopy's for lunch. My dad wanted to make sure Rylie wasn't feeling left out and rigged her chair to pub table height.

Had a fashion show of swimsuits (there were 3 in all, but missed the picture on the first one) to decide what to take to Arizona with us.
