Mini Vacation

Finally getting these pictures uploaded! It has been a crazy few weeks...and there are several more posts to come.

We were able to take a mini-vacation toward the end of June up north in Butternut, WI on Lake Bastine. Unfortunately Auntie Elaine happened to be coming to town the same weekend we were leaving, but she managed to squeeze in a night in Milwaukee with us. She stayed over Thursday night and we shopped and hung out most of Friday too. Friday night we packed everything up (a ridiculous amount of stuff for three people) and left the following morning. We met my parents and brother up there and stayed in a cabin that was probably bigger than our house! My parents stayed for the week, but we arrived on Saturday and stayed until Wednesday afternoon. While we were there the guys did some fishing, I spent some time in the sun and Rylie spent time in her pool. She practiced her standing skills A LOT and she also figured out how to climb stairs while we were there and has been climbing on everything ever since.

New Trick

Rylie learned a new trick a couple weeks ago, which she practiced the entire time we were up North (those pictures to follow).

And she has since started apprehensively cruising along some furniture and taking a few steps behind her walk 'n ride.

11 Months Old!

Rylie wasn't too thrilled with her monthly pics this time around. She had a stuffy runny nose and cough. I had to work pretty hard to get a couple smiles.

30! and the 25th annual Charlie Kearns Memorial

For my 30th birthday, Dan asked if I could take some time off work. So I took a half day and we went to play 9 holes of golf while Rylie was still at "daycare". We picked up Rylie, stopped home to change and then dropped her off at Chris and Leslie's to play with her cousins while we went out for drinks and some dinner downtown. We stopped at the Milwaukee Ale House for a glass of wine and appetizer and walked down to Water Buffalo for dinner. We sat on the deck and watched the boats coming in and out. A great night! I took off the next day as well to spend some time with Rylie and get us packed for yet another trip to La Crosse.

The tournament was a lot of fun as always. The night before, we went to see a band that was playing downtown, in celebration of the 25th year. The next day, Dan's parents made the trip to La Crosse to play with us. About 6 holes in we went from this....

...to this in a matter of minutes.

We ended up golfing that last 12 holes in the rain and completely soaked, but we finished! And the guys were 2nd in their division, so it was worth it!

BIG Birthdays and a BIG Anniversary

We did a lot of celebrating over Memorial Day weekend. My mom had a birthday the prior Tuesday; my brother had his Golden Birthday on Thursday- 27 on the 27th! And that same day, my Grandpa and Grandma Jenks celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. A week later, I celebrated my 30th Birthday!

To celebrate the BIG anniversary, we were all heading to La Crosse for the long weekend. My cousins, Krista and Lauren,and Krista's boyfriend James flew into Milwaukee from Texas and followed us out there and my Uncle Robin and Lorraine drove from Colorado. We had everyone over to mom and dad's to grill out on Friday night. We went to dinner at Drugan's (the golf course where the Charlie Kearns Memorial is held) on Saturday night with the entire Jenks side of the family. On Sunday morning, we went to Sloopy's for breakfast and after that my Uncle took some great family pictures for us. Then the guys went golfing while the girls just hung out. That evening we all went up to granddad's bluff since the girls had never been up there before and James had never even been to Wisconsin. The weekend was so much fun and it was really great to see family that we hadn't seen since our wedding.

A Night Away...

As an early birthday celebration for me, Dan and I went to the Jason Aldean/Brooks & Dunn concert in St. Paul. It had been a few years since I'd been to the cities and we figured it was the perfect opportunity for our first night away from Rylie. And it gave us a chance to see some friends that live in the area too. So, we met my parents in Tomah and handed off Rylie for the night and continued on to St. Paul. We met my friends Jen and her fiance Travis and Emily and her little guy Carter. We started with a drink at Patrick McGovern's and had dinner at the Downtowner next door. Then Dan and I were off to the concert. We had SO much fun together and the concert was great. The next day we took our time and drove home down along the river. We missed our little Rylie, but we're already looking forward to the next night out :-)
