Reagan's 2nd Birthday!

Miss Reagan turned 2 in May!  Fastest 2 years of my life.  At two years old she FINALLY has a couple of words for us.  She says hi, bye, again, more, mama, please.  She pats me on the face when she wants my full attention. She blows kisses and uses sign language and a lot of gestures to let us know what she wants and has the BEST facial expressions. She very clearly understands us, but just hasn't quite started forming too many words yet.  I have a feeling she will be taking off in the next few months.  At her 2 years appointment she weighed 24.2 pounds and 33 inches long.

In no particular order, here are some things our girl loves at age 2:

She loves, dancing, singing into the microphone, and running up on her "stage" (our foyer area) when she wants to sing. She sings along with songs on the radio and gets a couple words out here and there. And she starts dancing when she hears music.

She loves to copy her big sister and follows her around wherever she goes.  She loves getting into her things too.  She digs everything out of her play purse.  She finds her lip gloss and puts it on her toes like she's painting them, which is awesome. If Rylie gets her toes painted for real, Reagan plops right down as if she's next in line and points at her toes.  She recently learned how to climb out of her pack n play, so we're down to the crib!

She must have a thing with painting her toes because in addition to the lip gloss she puts on her toes, she's also found real nail polish and had it painted all over her toes and in the process, her clothes and the carpet too.  This was all in the time it took for me to take all of our bags from the house to the car that morning.

She doesn't eat great for us, yet we'll find her taking a bit out of the weirdest things- a piece of Styrofoam, sidewalk chalk, diaper cream.  She sleeps ok depending on whether she has had teeth coming in or not.  If not, she'll generally sleep all night.  If she's getting teeth, she usually wanders in during the night.

She loves to put on her bike helmet.  Loves to read books, especially in her sister's bed.  She'll sometimes disappear and we'll find her laying there looking at books.

As much as she loves her sister, she likes to cause plenty of trouble too.  She will stand and hold her blanky and wait to get caught with it and then she'll run and throw it.  She does the same with the tv remote and cell phones, which is great. She also bites, pinches, tackles her, and Rylie's favorite- hair pulling.

She has the best pout face.  She pretend sleeps, which is hilarious, and makes a great "cheese" face for pictures.

She loves her monkey...she doctors it, changes it's diaper, and shares her pacis with it. She rocks her monkey to "Rock-a-bye baby".  Any time she moves from her bed to ours, she picks up all of her things- blankys, monkey, pacis and hauls everything with her.

The girls love the little playhouse outside and driving in the little car.  She loves water, baths, and lays on her tummy kicking and "wimming".  She loves when you chase her.

She loves Sofia the First and Bubble Guppies.  If you're sitting on the floor, she backs her tush up and plops right down on you with a book to read to her.

For this year's birthday celebration, we decided to go to the zoo.  It's an annual tradition for at least one of the girls' birthdays. Carpenter's were out of town so we had Sophie sleep over and go with us too. Then we did gifts back at home and ice cream cake!

Reagan has been such a blessing to this family.  Rylie is a great big sister and Reagan just loves to do what she's doing.  She's a sweetheart and a cuddler, yet she's completely stubborn. She's our entertainment.  She's sweet and sassy and has a completely different personality from her sister.  She definitely keeps us on our toes.  We love our little Reag-a-boo SO MUCH!

**Stay tuned for the big joint b-day party pictures**

May Pictures

We had a busy weekend upon returning from Florida.  We returned on Friday and had Dan's annual Alumni Soccer game in Fond du Lac the next morning. About half way there, Reagan threw up in the car (possibly a bug caught on the floor of the airplane?).  So that was fun.  If we had turned around, he would have missed the game, so we decided to go ahead, but this meant he'd only be able to stay for the game and not the party after.  So the girls and I hung out along the side of the bleachers in case we had any other issues (which thankfully we didn't) and cheered for Daddy.

The following night we had the annual Flavors of Milwaukee dinner/fundraiser for the American Liver Foundation.

Luckily I took the day off on Monday to unpack!  Later that week, Rylie started her first session of Spring Soccer.

We did A LOT of yard clean up/tree clean up from the bunch of trees we had cut down in the Fall.  We burned left over leaves and planted the garden too.

Rylie's 4K Graduation! I cannot believe how fast this year went and the fact that I now have a KINDERGARTNER!  She's so excited.

She LOVES her twirl dress and asks to wear it all the time!

Yes, they had tiny little caps and gowns...pretty cute.

My life is flashing before my eyes!

Our Spring gymnastics session finished up in May.
In the Summer, Reagan will be old enough to join her!

We took on another major project...while still in the middle of several others.  We have a habit of doing that.  We decided to put up a short fence in our front yard on the side closest to Pilgrim Rd. for a couple of reasons...a little more privacy in the back yard and around the fire pit but mostly for the girls' safety.  Reagan is a little bit more of an explorer that Rylie was and living on the corner of a busy street has had us nervous.  So thanks to our parents, we were able to do the whole project over Memorial Day weekend.

A gate at the end to pull the trailer in and out.
Dan and his dad made an entrance gate under the arbor as well
We got some mulching in as well.  Next Summer we will finally (after 7 years of living here)
fully landscape this yard!

We did take some time over the long weekend to do a little relaxing in the sun too :)

Annual burning of our Christmas Tree!
