5 Months Old

We didn't have a doctor appointment to go along with this visit, so we aren't sure of Reagan's weight and length, but it's evident that she's growing.  Over this next month, we'll be starting baby foods.  She has slept through the night a handful of times now.  She loves to razz and make lots of bubbles...we're soaking through bibs.  She started rolling from her tummy to her back.  Still smiling all the time...even through her first little cold.  Here are the 5 month pictures:

Reagan's Baptism

  

Reagan's special day was held back in September.  It was a beautiful day and ceremony.  On the fourth Sunday of the month, they perform the Baptism outside of the Mass and there were two other babies Baptized at the same time.  The Deacon performed the ceremony.  Reagan did great!  She didn't fuss and had smiles for him every time he came near her.  She wore the same gown as Rylie which was made by my Grandma Kearns.  Her bonnet was made from the length removed from my wedding gown.  Following the ceremony we had everyone back to our house for lunch and cake.

4 Months Old

Our little babers (what we call her) is growing SO fast.  She is such happy baby and has smiles for everyone.  At her four month appointment she weighed 12 lbs, 10 oz and was 24.5 inches long. She does a lot of "talking", razzing and blowing bubbles.  She still doesn't sleep much for us.  She has slept through the night only a handful of times.  Her "firsts" for this month are: Trying out the Bumbo for the first time;  grasping the rings in her bouncy seat;  started eating rice ceral for the first time; and she went to the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells.  She tried a swing in the waterpark for about 5 minutes and touched her toes in the water...that was the extent of her fun.  Reagan was Baptized this month and she also attended her first of many La Crosse Oktoberfests, where she also got to meet our cousins from Texas and Aunt and Uncle from Colorado. That weekend we also held a special memorial for her Great Grandparents.

More Summer Fun!

The weekend before and after my return to work were busy ones!  Dan's Aunt and Uncle from TX came to visit along with his cousin Pat and his family from CA.  We had a great time catching up with them over the long weekend. We hadn't seen Pat and Claudia since our wedding and we have both had two kids since then, so it was great to finally introduce them all.  The day after they arrived, we all met for lunch and then spent the afternoon at Cushing Park in Delafield. The next night we had an "adult" cousins night out.  My parents were in town and watched the girls while Dan's parents and Uncle Jim and Auntie Mar watched the other five kiddos.  We went out to dinner and then a bar and back to our house for a bonfire.  We all stayed up too late and drank too much, but it was a great last night out before heading back to work.  On Sunday we had a cookout at Dan's parent's house so we could spend as much time with everyone as possible while they were in town.

The first week back to work actually flew by. I was extremely busy the day that I returned which made it much easier and actually it hasn't slowed down since...I have yet to look at the 700 emails that were in my inbox that day...they're still sitting in the folder I dragged them into. It was a little harder to come back to work this time. The fact that Rylie was home with me all summer didn't help things. It made me realize just how much I miss out on every day- the imagination that she has, watching her pretend, the conversations we have, all the songs she makes up or sings along with. But I'm thankful for all of the time that I did get to spend with her and it was so nice to be the one that she "wanted" most of the time. I think I created a special little bond with both of my girls this summer and loved our time together.

The weekend after I went back to work was fairly busy too. There were still things I wanted to squeeze in to the summer, so we had weekends packed full of activities. That weekend we went to Zoo a la Carte on Saturday and to a Brewer game on Sunday. It was Reagan's first game and she spent the majority of it asleep.he
