For the third year in a row we went to the zoo on the day of Rylie's birthday to celebrate. From the pictures below, it appears we take a picture in front of the elephants each year as well. It was another HOT day so we didn't get through the entire zoo, but we saw some of the bigger animals- apes, elephants, giraffes, and bears and had some ice cream! Rylie opened a few gifts at home from mommy and daddy and her own personal piece of turtle cake. The big celebration was her princess party the following day.

Rylie requested a princess party for her third birthday. We decided that since our house isn't in any condition to host guests (i.e. the basement still isn't finished and my dining room is still functioning as our storage area), the party would be held at Kinderberg park. It's a great park in that they have an indoor shelter to keep all of the food and the patio area is covered in case of rain. They also have a baseball diamond, swings, slides, jungle gym area, and a splash pad. We were so thankful that the over 100 degree weather of the previous couple of days cooled down to about 85 degrees. There was a wonderful breeze at the park to keep things a little more comfortable. It was a great party and our princess had so much fun with all of her family and friends.
