New Year's Eve this year was a very low-key night with our girls, which is just what we wanted. Somewhere along the way- after buying a house, getting married, and having kids- we got old. We loved the idea of avoiding the really crowded bars and restaurants, as well as driving, and instead opted for a fire-burning, Lego-building, card-playing, steak-and-shrimp-eating, wine-drinking night at home. If we're not invited to dance the night away at a New Year's Eve wedding (we have attended an awesome two!), then we'd prefer a night just like we had.
