Texas Wedding

About a year and a half ago, Rylie was the flower girl in my cousin Krista's wedding in Texas over Labor Day.  This year, she was a flower girl in my other cousin Lauren's wedding in Texas over Memorial Day. This would also be Reagan's first airplane ride.  The flights out of Milwaukee were pretty expensive and we recalled how difficult it was traveling with just one child and hauling the luggage, car seat, stroller, etc. So this time we decided to fly with my parents so we'd have some extra arms.  We decided to fly out of Minneapolis as it was over $100 per ticket cheaper.  It was a whirlwind trip with our flight leaving on Friday, rehearsal Saturday, wedding Sunday, and return flight on Monday. We drove to La Crosse on Thursday night and rode with my parents to Minneapolis on Friday morning. Reagan did pretty well on the flight there, but was a little more restless on the return flight.  Rylie did great on both flights...her favorite part was chewing gum for the first time.  She was SOOOO excited.  Even though it was a quick weekend, it was a beautiful wedding and we had so much fun spending time with everyone.  Last time we stayed an extra day to visit with Dan's Aunt and Uncle, but since we had my parents help this time we returned with them.

The whole trip was going a little too smoothly, which I decided to change on the trip back home.  We arrived at the car rental return, got our luggage on the shuttle, went through security, and got to our gate with no problems.  Until I looked in my purse...and realized I didn't have my cell phone.  We tried calling it and no one answered.  We called Enterprise and they would have to check at the return kiosks.  We were about an hour from our flight leaving so we didn't have time to wait.  Dan decided we weren't leaving Texas without it and ran back through the airport, got on the shuttle back to the car rental building, ran up to the kiosk- they had the phone (he and the girls picture is my screensaver so they handed it over), and caught the shuttle back. In the mean time everyone had boarded the flight.  Rylie went on with my parents and I waited with Reagan because she was listed on Dan's boarding pass.  With a couple of minutes to spare he ran around the corner and we hopped on the flight and took off. It was the closest call I've ever had to missing a flight and don't plan on that happening again any time soon!

Love the play area in the Minneapolis airport

In case of a water landing...

Our first stop was at Uncle Jim and Auntie Mar's house in TX for dinner
with Dan's cousins and their kids.  We haven't seen some of them since our wedding!
It was a quick visit, but so great to see them.

Rylie and Harper...by the time they warmed up to each other,
it was time to head down to the hotel in Cleburne.

Rylie's other friend Jolie. She was the other flower girl.  These two had so much
fun together...too bad they live all the way in CO.

Jolie is 2 and Rylie almost 4...they are just about the same height.

Happy Birthday Gamma!

Rehearsal night- my little cowgirl!

Jolie's Aunt made them into kittens...Rylie LOVED it
